Welcome to NostalBus!
NostalBus is a Belgian non-profit organisation, established in 2010, dedicated to the preservation of historic bus heritage. We focus on restoring, maintaining, and making old line buses operational again, particularly from the period when the National Company of Local Railways (SNCV) was active, specifically from 1977 to 1991. Through rides and events, NostalBus brings this moving heritage back to life for the general public.
Back in time with our collection
NostalBus has a collection of several historical buses from different time periods, most of which are roadworthy. These vehicles are part of Belgium's industrial heritage and are carefully restored and maintained by our volunteers. The typical colours and style of the past are preserved, giving the buses an authentic representation of former public transport. Discover our collection here!

Membership: a loyal base
NostalBus currently has around 130 members. Our members not only support our association but also actively contribute. Our membership consists of drivers, technicians, as well as organisers of activities and many handy helpers who voluntarily contribute their part. The membership is the foundation of the association.
We regularly organise workdays during which we carry out tasks on our buses and at our depots in Lochristi and Berendrecht.

Meet us at our activities
You will see our buses during cultural and historical events, such as heritage days and vintage activities. In addition, we also organise activities where people can ride in the restored buses themselves. This way, heritage is not only preserved but also actively experienced by a wide audience.

Our current restoration project, a green bus!
We are currently working on the restoration of a green Van Hool - Fiat bus from 1970. The bus was built for the company Siau from Dendermonde and operated for the first 7 years of its career on behalf of the SNCB. In 1977, the SNCB lines were transferred to the SNCV and the green bus ... thus became an orange bus. Discover the whole story on this page. NostalBus is also part of META, the heritage umbrella of De Lijn. This non-profit organisation represents the interests of the various tram and bus associations in Flanders. Some of the buses we manage are - along with our depot in Lochristi - still owned by De Lijn. The umbrella provides the necessary support.
